You know I've read a lot fo backlash against Alan Moore online lately. And I don't get it. Why all the hateraid? Sure Moore isn't perfect as a writer or a preson, but he is one of the few people who have truly been visionary in the comic field. He is like a Jimi Hendrix, someone that you really can't say enough good things about. How many people can you think of that have been around as long as Moore and are still just as good as when they first became well known?
I even read someone taking a shot at him because Watchmen didn't have enough good female characters. Whatever. The man is a genius. Neil Gaiman and Grant Morrison . They are like those Chysler 300's, yeah they look like a Bentley but they ain't no Bentley. Still they are nice cars though. And Gaiman and Morrison are decent enough...but they fall short of Moore's greatness.
He is the only man who call's himself a magician who I respect.
Yet these internet gangsters talk a bunch of shit about him on the thread following this interview. Why ? I don't know, he doesn't seem grumpy to me at all. People are dumb.

You know most people when I tell them that I want to make a living as an artist, they tell me to sell out in one way or another. They always say that you can make your work more accessible, try to draw like this one or that one. But I was just watching this video interview with Alan Moore and basically he says to just do what you do for yourself.
I think I'll listen to Alan.
If you don't know who Alan Moore is and you know who Neil Gaiman, or any other british comic scribe you need to read his work to see whats up. Hell if you like comics you need to read his stuff. Alan is one of the few comic creators who really expand your mind with his work. I just read the first League of Extraordinary Gentlemen trade paperback and of course just loved it.
Anyway here is the video I was talking about.
