So this is my latest finished piece. It's the latest in my musician series of pieces.

I'm getting pretty tired with just doing literal portraits of musicians that I like so I did a montage with this one trying to capture the vibe of the actual music. I'll probably go this route for the rest of them as well. It seems more interesting that way.

Okay so I'm pretty much finished with this other than for a few touch ups. I also want to put some zip a tone on the background to help pull the piece together. Right now I feel like its too stark and it need some grey in there. I don't know why but I was able to do this without much in the way of whiting out. Usually I'm whiting out like crazy. But I used my brush for 95% of the figure even some of the small details and I didn't fuck up much.



 

So this is the latest musician piece that I'm working on. I'm having a bit of a problem with it though and I needed some advice. I know what the problem is and how to fix it but I wanted to ask you guys if you noticed it ? Because if I fix the problem the picture runs the risk of looking too mechanical. I was wondering what was off about this picture and until I looked at photoshop elements I couldn't figure it out. It just felt off. But it might work better and look more natural that way. Or not. So this is where you come in. Let me know if this looks good to you or really bad.

So while I don't have my computer yet... I still have my scanner and a copy of photoshop elements that came with my wacom tablet. Which just goes to show you that you should NEVER throw away bundled software CD's.  Anyway I think about four of you will know who these guys are, and for the rest of you just enjoy the good art okay ?

BTW these are only the pencils...
